Sketchbook

A trip to the park, on a rare sunny day.

My parents' dog. He's pretty smart. He can open and close doors and play dead, although he still wags his tail.

From the one successful trip to the zoo so far this summer, before the rains descended.

In times of biblical downpours, head for the National Gallery and draw. These kids seem to have had the same idea.

A figure from one of my favourite paintings in the gallery.

Same room, different painting.

Clock tower in Annecy, France. Beautiful town, amazing old buildings. This is a view from the Cafe Des Belles Artes, very popular with Festival goers.

More Annecy, by the river.

Illustrations

Way back last year I did a series of illustrations to go with a theme for the Boulder art blog. Here are three of them.

Colour Work

Saw the BBC Planet Earth episode where one tribe of chimps attacks another tribe and kills and eats some of them. Thought it deserved a more dramatic treatment, so I came up with this progression.

Slacker Cats

Did some BGs for the Slacker Cats pilot. I think you can see it on Youtube.

El Tigre Backgrounds

El Tigre was a fast-paced little cartoon set in a fictional city in Mexico. As well as some snappy dialogue, it also had a lot of explosions and spontaneous demolition. For example, a nice doorway scene...

...and there goes the wall.

Intro

Well, here it is, my very first post on my very first blog. Might change the name at a later date if I think of something slightly more original but in the meantime, the priority being showing pretty pictures, I'll get uploading.
